Yes, they are also eligible to get sick leave as per the Shops and Establishments Act of the state. It is not necessary that for being sick an employee should avail medical leave from the ESIC nor for the first two days of sickness the insured will get leave from ESIC. he will get sick leave from the third day onwards, and that also is not available to an employee who has not satisfied the required contribution conditions like 78 days in the contribution.

Employees covered under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme are generally entitled to sick leave benefits. Here are some key points regarding sick leave for ESIC-covered employees:

### 1. **Sickness Benefit**:
- ESIC provides sickness benefits to employees who are unable to work due to illness.
- To qualify, employees must have contributed to the ESIC for a minimum number of days.

### 2. **Eligibility for Sick Leave**:
- While ESIC provides medical benefits and cash compensation during sickness, sick leave policies can vary by employer.
- Many organizations have their own sick leave policies, which may allow for additional paid or unpaid sick leave beyond what is covered by ESIC.

### 3. **Duration of Benefits**:
- ESIC provides sickness benefits for up to 91 days in a benefit period, which typically covers six months.
- Employees must submit medical certification for the claim to be processed.

### 4. **Company Policy**:
- Employers may offer sick leave as part of their human resources policies, which are separate from ESIC benefits. These policies often specify the number of sick leave days employees can take.

### Conclusion:
Employees covered under ESIC are eligible for sickness benefits but may also have access to additional sick leave as per company policies. It’s essential to refer to the specific sick leave policy of the organization to understand entitlements fully.
