Contractor workman can be eligible for member works committee???

Dear Based on Indian labor laws, contractor workmen are generally not eligible to be members of the works committee. The committee is meant for direct employees of the principal employer.

The contract workers can't be members of the works committee.

In exceptional conditions where management workers are not in significant numbers compared to the daily working force but are engaged under contractors, the number of worker representatives should be 20 if the total strength is 100 and contract workers account for 80. In these conditions, workers are to be selected from the contractor.
