Dear Bipin Sharma,

I wish you had provided sufficient information about your query. What is the nature of your industry? How big is the facility? How many employees work? How many shifts are there, and so on?

The Quick Response Team (QRT), as the name suggests, should be easily contactable during an emergency. The members of this team should be the first to arrive at the scene of an emergency. Their training is multifaceted and may cover the following topics:

a) If the fire erupts, then identify the fire and use the correct type(s) of extinguisher(s).
b) Quickly remove the personnel involved in the emergency. Also, quickly remove the material that may aggravate the crisis.
c) Perform rescue operations that require climbing the ladders quickly, working at heights, and moving the injured people on a makeshift stretcher.
d) Conduct advanced operations like cutting the window panes and using electric welding cutters, saws, hammers etc.
e) Manage grievous pain

There are a few other training topics as well. However, these will vary from one facility to another.

The members of the QRT should not only be able-bodied but also need to have stamina and endurance. They should demonstrate the presence of mind and a good sense of observation. If injured, they should be able to withstand moderate pain and continue working.

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar
