DEAR EMPLOYER, YOUR ESTABLISHMENT xxxxx, HAS FAILED TO CORRECTLY PAY BOTH EMPLOYEES SHARE AND EMPLOYERS SHARE IN ECR FOR 4 EMPLOYEES. IT IS REQUESTED TO FILE CORRECT ECR FOR ALL EMPLOYEES WITH REMAINING SHARE OF CONTRIBUTION IMMEDIATELY. -EPFO

I'm getting this SMS from EPFO. But I have made all the payments before the 10th of every month.
What is the solution for this SMS?

From India
EPFO has a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for conducting inspections of establishments in a transparent and accountable manner and includes three steps:

Nudge & Watch, [SMS / emails]
E-verification,
and Physical Inspection.

The above "Cryptic SMS" received - seems to be a part of their IT - Nudge & Watch system and it involves identifying likely defaulters and nudging them through various means to remit the dues.
Or
It could just be a NEW BUG in their IT systems [Messages started appearing from Feb2024 for us]

Action:-
1- If Employer Portal [unifiedportal-emp [dot]epfindia [dot]gov[dot]in] - Shows dues u/s 7A/7Q/14/14B - Pay the dues.
Else
2. Wait and see
or
3. Submit an Employer Grievance via the "epfigms" portal
Quoting the SMS, and have them send us the Corrections/explanations

Moreover, when many similar Grievances are filed - it may trigger an internal Verification & Correction of the EPFO IT systems generating these SMS and emails.

From India, Bangalore
One of our client based at Gurgaon is also getting the same vague messages from PF Department. Seek clarification from PF Department, they said these are auto/system generated messages and sending to all the employers.

My advise is in case we are confident that ECR generated doesn't have any anomaly, then nothing to worry and ignore such type of vague messages.
