Dear Senior, I have a query related to leave calculation:

Let's say an employee is on leave for a week from Monday to next Monday and he has 4 leave balance

How to calculate his salary after adjusting his leave?

Monday to Thursday (adjusted from his Leave balance)
Friday to Monday (Loss of Pay)

Should I consider Sunday as a Loss of pay or Weekly off?

Note: Let's consider 30 / 31 / 28 days as the basis for salary computation

There are several ways to consider weekly off :
1. If employee is present for at least 3 days in week
2. If he present on Saturday or Sunday or both days (prefix and suffix)
3. If employee availed 3 Earned Leave in the week (as well as present days)
You can make policy according to your company because there is not Hard n Fast rule for sandwitch leave

To calculate the employee's salary after adjusting his leaves, you'll need to follow these steps:

Determine the Total Days in the Week:

Monday to Thursday = 4 days (adjusted from leave balance)
Friday to Monday = 4 days (Loss of Pay)
Consider Sunday:

If Sunday is considered a Weekly Off for the employee, you don't need to deduct pay for Sunday. It's part of the normal weekly off days.
Calculate Daily Salary:

Divide the employee's monthly salary by the total days in a month (30, 31, or 28, as per your organization's policy) to get the daily salary.
Calculate Salary for Monday to Thursday:

Multiply the daily salary by 4 (for the days the employee is on leave).
Calculate Loss of Pay for Friday to Monday:

Multiply the daily salary by 4 (for the days without leave).
Total Salary Adjustment:

Subtract the Loss of Pay from the Salary for Monday to Thursday.
Here's a formula to represent this:

Keep in mind that if Sunday is considered a Loss of Pay day instead of a Weekly Off, you'll need to adjust the calculation accordingly.
