Hi All, I am writing here because I am not able to find the solution for one problem.
I have lost my company tab,ID and lost my personal laptop & money during the company purpose travel time in the train, I have raised a Fir in railway police station and informed to my hierarchy also.
They didn't question me when I am in the company but soon after my resignation they are asking me to pay the amount for F&F
My request is, Should a company get the reimbursement from me for this cost?? or some other action has to be taken.

The general Asset policy says- If the damage/theft/loss etc. has happened in the employee's custody, The employee is responsible for the loss. Some companies may bear the cost as it was an accident and not intentional, But in most cases, companies recover the cost incurred on assets from employee.

How old was the Tab and whether the cost recovered was in preposition to age of the Tab? Otherwise as employee you are responsible for the Assets that was in your custody.

More than cost facor Company will be more concerned of the Company's business data in the Tab ( if any). If company keep silent on such issues tomorrow everybody will take it for granted.
