I recommend you refer to a book on "Operations Management". In this book, refer to a chapter on "Operations Strategy" and you will get concepts like labour productivity, machine productivity, single-factor productivity, multiple-factor productivity etc.

Your question is on how to increase workplace productivity. To increase productivity, you need to do a deep study of your operations. You need to map the various processes and identify the turnaround time for each process, the number of human hours for each process and also the material used in each process. Once you generate the data, you need to use mathematical or statistical tools to measure productivity. Improvement will happen after the measurement.
