Hey folks, need advice on how to handle this scenario. I had 2 offers last year and eventually chose a company which was suitable for me. Unfortunately, the 2nd company created a PF account which is showing as present employer because of the joining date being the latest.

Now the problem lies is this I want to withdraw my PF amount from previous organisations and I do have multiple member ID's of which all have balance.

So my dilemma if i transfer the balance of previous member id's to the present employer member Id (where I did not join in the first place). Do I need employer approval to withdraw the transferred amount? Or is there any snag I might face while transferring and withdrawing. How to proceed with this? Need to withdraw the PF.

Note, kyc is already approved and I have connected with AADHAR and PAN.

Did you try to withdraw the PF accumulations using your (member) portal? The issue is that since the UANs are linked with a single Adhar and telephone number, the system may reject the withdrawal. The present company should not have created a new UAN. I am still confused is it possible to create a new UAN when the Adhar is already linked to another UAN. The only possible way is transferring the multiple accounts to the present one by separate transfer requests made through the online portal. The requests should be approved either by the present employer or by the previous employer. While submitting the requests, you can choose either of the two. It is better if you select the respective previous employer.

This is not a case of multiple UAN's. Basically I have worked for more than 3 companies in last few years which all have respective pf accounts or member Id accounts. So the balance is accumulated in these accounts while a new pf account is created by a company where I didn't join meanwhile the present company has a different member Id.

Scenario: A and B company offers, i join A company while B company proceeds with creating PF account and the joining date is higher than A company. So the present employer is showing as B company in EPF account. Hope this clarifies.

When you join a company, naturally, the company will allot a PF member Id. When you leave that company joins another company, that new company will allot another PF id but the UAN will remain the same. The earlier PF account can be transferred to the new one without any issue. I understand that the problem is not with transfer but the present employment itself is the issue. I am afraid, how can an employer create a PF id in respect of an employer who has never joined his company? I don't think that a member can rectify this issue but it would require the intervention of the technical/ IT cell of the EPFO. Therefore, you may write to EPFO marking copies to the the employers.

That was a mistake from my end I clicked on the portal link or joining link they sent me which recorded my attendance. So that one day got recorded and now showing up as employee for a day. So can I transfer the previous member ID's to this account so that I can withdraw pf. Do i need their approval to transfer and withdraw from UAN portal?

The company where you are now working and the contribution is made is appearing as a past employment? If so, you exit from that company by putting the date of entry itself as the date of exist. Once you could exit from that employer, you will be able to log in with the UAN and the member id of the employer where you actually are. Then you can transfer the old accounts to this new one. Try that one.

No, it's not showing as past employment neither present because the other had the latest joining date and even after they've marked "Date of exit" it's shows as present employer in UAN portal. So I have to transfer to this account as the current company is not showing up.

Can I transfer old accounts to this member Id and be able to transfer and withdraw without their approval? As that is the option I'm getting.

I am unable to get a clear picture of your case. therefore, please feel free to contact the EPFO for solution.
