Dear team,

I am working as an Associate in Compliance at my company and I need clarity on ESIC contribution payments. Our factory is located in Poothurai Village, Vanur Taluk, Villupuram District, Tamil Nadu. Upon checking the portal, I found that the district is partially notified, and the ESIC dispensary is situated in the Taluk.

Do I need to deduct ESIC contributions from the workers' salaries? If not, I will proceed with either workers' compensation or group medical insurance (for workers only).

Could you please provide clarification on this matter?

Thank you.

Since it is partial coverage, you need to deduct and pay the ESIC charges, but they are less than normal. The amount is provided in the ESIC portal.

Basically, they are providing insurance coverage, but the medical facilities are not yet established in the district. For serious illness, they will be able to contact the nearest ESIC hospital or claim reimbursement.
