We have workers in our company who are sent to clients place for commissioning purpose. They are paid overtime when they work for extended hours at the company. Are they eligible for overtime allowance for traveling hours?

Dear colleague,

Traveling period, is not considered as OT as travelling expenses to the client' s place are picked up as well as lodging and boarding , local travel expenses by the company. OT is payable only for working more than 9 hours on a day or 48 hours a week.

For OT purposes travel time is not included. For the travel period the Travelling Allowance is the compensation as one is not required to be at actual work during this period.
