What is your opinion about the concept of body language? Should not the old paradigm about body language be revisited in the context of the communication revolution?
From India, Kozhikode
My opinion is quite positive and we should consider the concept of body language. This concept is quite scientific for the people well versed in subject and for ignorance it is useless. Our dance forms are best examples of body languages. The mudras are important part of nonverbal communication. Facial expressions, for happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear, and disgust are the same across cultures. Body movement and posture gives perceptions about a person (the way they sit, walk, stand, or hold their head). Gestures are the meaning of some communication with a little different across cultures. Eye contact maintaining the flow of conversation and for gauging the other person’s interest and response. Similarly, Touch and Space have its own manifestation in communication.
