Respected All,

My Head Office is in Singapore, and they have only one office in Ludhiana, Punjab. Our office is in a complex. Due to a curfew on 22.03.2020, the landlord has obtained consent from every office to keep the office closed on 23.02.2020. Now, my Head Office is demanding a legal notice from the government stating that offices should remain closed; otherwise, they will not consider it. Where can I obtain it? Please advise further.

Dear Amrindar,

No reasonable person would be able to understand the logic behind the head office of an MNC demanding a legal notice if any is issued by one of the Governments of the countries where it has its operations to close down the office premises for a day as a preventive measure against the spread of Covid-19, which is already surging across the globe.

The move of the Government of India to impose a self-curfew for 14 hours on 22nd March 2020 is universally hailed as a brilliant step to combat the menace, as the lifespan of the particular virus is limited to 12 hours in the absence of any human carrier.

What the GOI has done is issue a National Call in an unpredictable medical emergency of international scale, based on the moral responsibility of a Welfare State to protect all its citizens' health and safety.

Please convey this message politely to your headquarters in Singapore.

Dear Amrindar,

Every state government has declared a "lockdown" for cities and towns. The government has also issued a notification (Department of Health) regarding this pandemic situation. A copy of the notification can be obtained from the office of your district Collector. You can ask the relevant person/official to visit your place and assess the situation. Is the person an alien? The world is reeling from the pandemic, and there are people who are playing with the situation.

Thank you.

Respected Sirs,

I hope you all are safe and fine!

Firstly, I am thankful to all of you for helping me by sharing important information. I again need your help, as you have apex knowledge and years of experience. I have 13 members in my team who stay at home and go to project sites when required.

My company wants me, as an Administrator, to establish a format for improving administration. This format would require everyone to seek approval from the Country Manager for finances, stays, food, and hotel accommodations. There must be limitations on expenses to reduce costs and maintain the budget.

Currently, we use claim forms and an online portal for attendance, leave requests, and business forms, all managed from the HO in Singapore. The management is requesting my input at the India office to enhance the effectiveness of our operations.

Please provide valuable suggestions.

Thanks a lot,
Amrinder Kaur
