I work in a company in Haryana where Satudays and Sundays are weekly off days.
What shall be maximum and minimum number of holidays we should get from our Employer?
Which Act governs our Holidays?Please decribe in details with references.

Normally the holidays should be as per the State law on national and festival Holidays Act. In Haryana, the Punjab Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act is applicable. Unlike similar Acts of other states, the Punjab Act applies only to factories. Please correct, if I am wrong. The Act provides for three national holidays, 26th january, 15th August and 2nd October and five other holidays for festivals which can be chosen in consultation with the workers considering their religious sentiments. Please refer the aforesaid Act for details and applicability for establishments other than factories.
