Urgent help is required - I am working in a private school as teacher on contractual basis since 3rd July,2017. A new contract letter was issued on dated 3rd july 2018, which says that I am on service contract w.e.f 5th July, 2018. I informed my head verbally that I am pregnant on 4th July, 2018 and through a message on 12th July,2018. I am 5 months pregnant and was not well since 16th September.
I informed the head of my school through mail that I will not able to attend the school because of the same reason and again inform them next day through mail. On 18th September I received a mail from school that I am terminated. I want to know as I am continuing the job in same organisation since July 2017, am I eligble for the following things as per the Maternity Act:
1) the school cannot terminate me from my duties as I am pregnant
2) Will the new contract affect the eligibility criteria of 80 days?

Termination after intimation of pregnancy would not be in accordance with law. Secondly the 80 day clause was sought to be avoided by giving break of one or two days. This can be contested.
