Promotion is an elevation to an employees performance, hard working, aims and goals that an employees aspires for many number of times. Even though dry promotion doesn't seem to be very exciting, yet the word promotion does! When an employee is promoted to a higher level with good percentage hike, do you think it should be told to other employees or just keep it within the management and that employee?
Possibilities in sharing across: Putting across to other employees can act as a motivation factor which motivates or inspires another to perform better and acquire the same position. But, what if it back fires? What if another employee who has served same tenure in the company but didn't get the promotion? What is he feels demotivated and feels the management is being partial or any such negatives that affects his morale or even chose to quit the company?
Please share what do you think about this!

Its the pride of the employee and as well as a message to all the others that every good work is being recognized. When the management is doing good things and supporting the employees by rewarding and recognizing then it should be transparent.
As our friend mentioned that the process should be genuine & merit based, if not the management has to face the music because somehow or other the message will spread & instead better to put it open.
Thanks
