I didnt pay ESIC contribution for my sole proprietorship for 6 months as the number of employees count went below 10.
I got a notice from ESIC (C 18 Adhoc) and it proposes an arbitary amount as pending and asking me to provide explanation or come for hearing.
Will i have to go for hearing if i pay the due amount now?

If you clear the dues, you need not go if you are out of station. Post the payment receipt and a letter stating your inability to travel on a letter head.

The C-18 Adhoc notice shows a very large amount. The actual contribution is 10 times less than that.
I paid the actual contributions for the pending months as per the actual salary paid. Is this enough? Please advise
