A mail is sufficient from the employee's side because as far as the payment of gratuity is concerned, it is the responsibility of the employer to pay the amount even if the employee has not claimed it. However, there is a formal form (Form I) that can be submitted to the employer. Please find the attached form.

After sending 3 to 4 emails, the CEO of the company has replied that the gratuity amount will be paid in 2 EMIs. However, he has now resigned from his post. I have contacted the Director of the Company, and he mentioned that he will address the matter after two months as there are currently no funds available. I have learned from reliable sources that they are planning to merge the existing company with another company. Can you guide me, sir, on the steps I need to initiate?

Now you may send a letter to the Labour Officer/Dy./Asst. Commissioner, whoever is the appropriate authority under the Payment of Gratuity Act in your state, asking him to intervene. The format of the letter is attached for your reference.

After the bifurcation of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, they changed the Registered Office from Hyderabad to SPSR Nellore District, Andhra Pradesh, while keeping the Hyderabad office as the Corporate Office. I worked at the Hyderabad Office from 2012 to 2018. Should I approach the Labour Officer at Nellore or the Labour Officer at Hyderabad since my work location was Hyderabad?
