With online systems introduced, the form 2, the declaration and nomination form, has become ineffective. The master data uploaded in the website in order to generate UAN will contain most of the details regarding the employee. Now it is the employees who should put the name(s) of their nominees by logging into their member portal. If you have collected form 2, fine, you may keep it in the personal file of the employee.

It is true that form 2 has not been removed. Even form 3, form 5 and 10, form 5A (which is more important), form 12, form 6 etc are still there in the Act, but practically they are not sent to EPF but are generated online. Once you give details in e nomination field you will also get the same form 2 only. But this is not sent to EPF Office. At any time, you can view and edit it.
