Hi All,
I have an experience of around 2.5 years. Recently I Joined a service based company as a senior Executive-HR. People here are not at all welcoming. The team members are telling me the negatives about the company from the very first day. They are like politics is the only way to survive here. All around me is so much negativity that i just wana quit this company. Please suggest.

Hi,
Looks you are taking decision on others influence.
Analyse and understand the culture, give yourself some more time.
My suggesion, wherever you will go, you will certainly confront such kind of employees with full of negativity.
Rather going with their flow, why don you try to talk to those who are actually productive and loyal to this firm.
Talk to such set of employees as well once and take a decision accordingly.
Its very important to have a vision of your growth and stability in your present company.
If it has positive answer for the above two... than i think you should face the challenges and play a role of HR to motivate those employees and get them out from their negativity.

Thanks forr your suggestion. Also i would add that here the CEO is very strict about the timing irregular of the shift hours. For example if i come to office at 10,and leaving at 6:30,my team members and others also are like "Dont leave before 8 or 8:30 as it will leave a negative impact on the CEO". I dont understand that how come just sitting in the office will make any difference.
Also, one of my team members is so abusive about the ladies in the company. He just talks false about everyone,whosoever is earning good. I have confronted him a lot of times,but he is like,"You will get to know about all this".
I think I should escalate this to the seniors. This person has taken a loan from the company,so he is sure that he will not be asked to leave the job immediately. He himself comes at 12 in the noon and leaves late and if i am late,he just threatens me that if the seniors will come to know,you are gone. This all is adding to my frustrations.
Kindly suggest me in this also.

This is not a new thing that you came accross but it is happening in most of the cases. The existing staffs of the Dept. consider a newcomer as a threat to in similiar function or hirearachy. A web is spun by the person has got a feeling of insecurity at work place and reasons are best known to concerned.
You will find the same person is taking more interest on you and feed you all negetive and give impression as one of well wisher. You just need to address your responsibility well and not let a chance for others to blame. You need to maintain offfice time table strictly, while leaving just inform concerned that nothing is pending. The frustration rieses when your ego or inner heart not accepting the things as you wish. Try to elliminate however the things should not ride over you. The people around will not allow to reach CEO but you something good in new can be noticed by CEO. Continue till get a new job but do not take a false call, which will be fatal for you..

This political things happens in all the organisations. Just wait till you experience anything personally.
Every employee has to work on time and leave on time, complete your work and leave which is good for appraisals time
Just inform your team leader or boss that I am leaving for the day and finished my work. If still he forces you to sit in office and wait for 2 more hours with no work, just inform him that on the very next that I am leaving and as per my work timings I have worked.
If its not late, inform your past employer to take back your resignation and consider you for the same salary offered if you would definitely like to leave the current one.
