Dear Sir This is to inform you that.I am working in HR Department in Health Sector. I have 300 on roll employees. I have installed biometric machine to track attendance of employees and simultaneously I have maintained muster roll form no -25 under rule 110 under factory act 1948. My concern is only that is it mandatory to maintained muster roll because same date we can import frm that machine in case of Labour inspector will come. So please guide me to whom I have approach.

The purpose of muster roll is to mark the attendance and record keeping if you can maintain the records of attendance and salary through software you need not go for traditional record keeping just be sure that you can rely on your software for the data. you can always take a print out and submit it to officials with your office seal and signature. Being on safer side you can also ask your software provider to mention muster roll on top of the report page.
