Sir, contribution made under the provisions of ESI Act,1948 and rules/regulations framed thereunder are not refundable after retirement/resignation. This is on account of the reasons that the scheme under ESIS is called a social security scheme under which the benefits in terms of kind and cash are regularly being paid to the needy and eligible insured persons in times of their sickness, maternity, disablement and death etc.
