Sir, I work in the largest Construction Firm MNC in India. Here employees are made to work from 8:30 hours to 20:00 hours. No overtime or such allownces are provided. While recruiting, these timings of work were not mentioned in the offer letter. Do i have the right to claim overtime allowance?? What should be its rate?

Are you a worker or an officer? Claiming overtime depends on this response. Officers are not entitled for overtime.

Hello!
Reg OT, if you are worker/employee under the factories act/shops act, it provides for OT payment at double the rate for working beyond 9 hours a day or 48 hours a week. It is the statutory right of an employee.
