One of my team members takes regular Time Offs. He is already ended with the time of balances for this year. He has not stopped taking leaves till date. He is regularly taking leaves. He is experienced member of the team (5 years).
I provided valuable feedback to him many times but he is not ready to improve...What to do?

Dear Jimid,
When the feedback does not work then we have to start following progressive discipline. Next time when he absents, you may give him a warning letter and deduct the salary. If the misconduct is repeated then issue the show cause notice. As a punitive measure, you may suspend him for 1-2 days.
However, before going ahead with the negative discipline, obtain the approval from your Director or MD. Rather signing warning letter or show cause notice yourself, get it signed by your Director or MD. Do everything but make sure that your name does not appear anywhere.
Thanks,
Dinesh Divekar
