Hi, I am currently serving notice period with TCS .In between TCS has given me some good retention offer and now I am ready to stay .So just wanted to know is there any policy in TCS in which if once you take back your resignation then for particular period of time any how you have to stay with company (let's say 6 months) & in which you can't apply for resignation again ? I think there is policy with Infosys where once you take back your resignation you can't apply for same in next 6 months

Dear Yogesh, Normally, resignation can be withdrawn any time before it is accepted.

Unless your resignation is accepted by the company, the resignation letter can be withdrawn. And regarding non-application with next 6 months, it may vary from one company to another but as far as I know, there is no such law which bars you from tendering resignation once again within a particular period from the date of withdrawal of your earlier resignation.

Apart from above the employer can retain their employee on mutually agreed terms, please go through the terms agreed upon if it states that you cannot resign further for a particular period then you have adhere to it.

But you have to write to TCS mentioning retention salary offered & because of the same you are requesting to treat the resignation letter dated so & so as cancelled. If they send you acceptance letter, you will face difficulties.

I do agree, every company has its own HR policy, hence it is differ from company to company about tendering resignation and taking back, and the period of tendering resignation again.
