Hi all, I am a fresher and will join a company soon as a SDE. My company is not providing initial accommodation. So my query is that is it necessary for a company to provide initial accommodation to the employee for 1 or 2 week so that they can search for their accommodation or it depends on companies norms and policies. It is a private organisation.

What you can do is talk to some of the employees and ask them to guide you for suitable accommodation which will help you settle down.
The employee would have knowledge of tea and can easily help to get you rented place to stay and once you settle down then look around yourself.
Every company may not be that big to afford accommodation etc,though sometimes many companies have guest houses etc.
All depends on company policy.
But don't be disheartened,things will settle down once you go there and look around.
