I have worked in MNC for almost 3 years,but due to some personal and professional reasons i have left the job without prior intimation which is termed as absconding. Later i took 1 year gap. After a lot of struggle,now, i was shortlisted for a government job. In interview, whether i should tell that i am experienced or not?
How should i answer if they ask why there is 4 years gap? Should i honestly tell what had happened or someother thing.... that sounds more appropiate...
I dont want to fake but if i tell that i worked for 3 years..surely they will ask for experience letter and lot more questions which could create negative impact. Could anyone please guide me how should i come across this situation.

Greetings....Well I take several interviews and I would firstly check out your age against your highest education completion year. From this I would find out even you without telling me that there is four years gap. Hence, you should tell them the truth that due to personal problem you left the organization without serving notice period and did not receive any Relieving Letter.
Provide them references to cross verify your details and try to convince them that you are the best candidate for the job. Make eye contact, dont look nervous and be honest at all times. Discuss your strengths and weaknesses altogether. All the best.

I'm not sure about government recruitment requirement and process, but as a recruiter, I think that you should tell the truth. Of course, you should talk about the good side of your experience (both MNC and gap year).cleverly tell them what you realize after these experiences and emphasize your long term commitment there.
