Dear All, I would like to know for any off role temporary employees who are paid on voucher is the company liable to take up PF & ESIC?
From India, undefined
1. Sir, temporary or casual employees are coverable as "employees" within the meaning of ESI & EPF Acts and compliance is required to be made.
2. The mode of payment of wages is irrelevant. As and when inspection of records is conducted by the investigating officers of above departments, the non-payment of contribution in respect of wages paid by vouchers will be treated as defaults and contribution will be demanded by the said departments alongwith interest and damages, if any.
