One of the MNC Pharma company in India based at Gurgaon is avoiding layoff or retrenchment policy & threatening employees to resign or else will be terminated with one month notice. Those who’re working are in workmen category but didn’t have any idea of ID act protection. Can I file an RTI to Labour commissioner of that concerned Head Office area to know about mass resignation & the reason for such resignation. Could it be possible to get RTI to prove that mass resignation is actually reflecting the naked Hire & Fire system.

1. Sir, under provisions of RTI Act, 2005 you can call for copies of information/documents which are available in the records of any government authority. RTI is not applicable against private persons/companies.
2. But even from 'authorities', you cannot ask questions and in my opinion, cannot ask reasons etc.
