Dear All,
Could any one please let me know if there are any specific penalties to staff member who would be coming late or leaving early then the time specified in the company policy?
Also is salary deduction a common penalty against defaulters?
Kind regards,
Ankita

Hi Ankita,
You could make a policy wherein if any employee is late for more than 3 or 5 times in a month after considering grace time of lets say 10 minutes then from there onwards appropriate leaves will be deducted from the account.
For 30 mins late-Half-Day Leave
For more than 30 mins-Full Day
The above must be for lates which are not informed well in advance.
For the lates which are informed then you can ask them to compensate by staying back for the day or next following day.
Deducting salary will not be a good practice.
