Dear All , Pls could anyone say the formula used for greater to less than basic 6500rs celing .Pf . If basic is less or more than 6500rs .formula used . regards riyazbasha.
From India, Bangalore
Use xls if condition; "=if(Basic<= 6500, 6500*12%, Basic *12%)" - by this function, if basic is less than 6500, pf will be 12% on 6500, else if it is greater than 6500, it will be on actual basic...
You may use this function next to the column of basic amount fixed a xls file

So it comes like this =IF(C2<= 6500,6500*12%,C2 *12%) c2 stands for basic salary of the employee. c2 = 25000rs basic salary . but in pf deduct column it showing 3000rs , How , it should come 780rs .
From India, Bangalore
Basic Rs.25000 in Coloumn C2 then "=IF(C2>= 6500, 6500*12%, Basic *12%)" = 780
From India, Chennai
If you want to fix 780 as standard pf deduction for all irrespective of their basic amount, then try this formula =if(C2 <= 6500, C2*12%, 780).
Using this formula, you will have 12% of deduction on basic in case it is less than 6500 and on any other amount that is above 6500, it will remain at 780.

Dear Basha.786,
You can adopt any one formula as mentioned below (both are correct):-
"=if(Basic>= 6500, 6500*12%, Basic *12%)"
or
"=if(Basic<= 6500, Basic*12%, 780)"
