Greetings to dear seniors and peers. I am currently working on holiday list for the year 2014 and have realised that the companies need to register their yearly holiday list for each year to the Shop & Establishment Office.
Can somebody kindly explain this procedure. We are based in Mumbai. Our company's Bombay S&E registration also has to be done; so these 2 things have to happen simultaneously.
I'd really appreciate any help you may be able to give me.
Bets regards,
Aditya

Hi Bharat :
I think you should have posted your query separately and not in continuation to our fellow member's query.
Hi Aditya :
I do not think we need to register the holiday list. Our company too comes under Shop Act but we have never registered our holiday list. Anyhow let us wait for inputs from other members.

Hi Gia. Thanks for your reply. I went through the Act, and it says that Holiday list has to be registered. If the days on which holidays are given (such as holi, diwali etc) remains the same; then separate registration for each year NEED NOT be done.
I am just quoting the act. As our company is yet to be registered under Bombay S&E, we will register holidays along with company registration. Kindly advice.

Hi Aditya, There cud be no second thought reg. registration under S & E. Do that first then other things could follow and why do you worry when 2014 is two months away now?

I am based in Gujarat and during my career I have done 3 times the registration under S&E Act, but none of the time I have submitted the Holiday List till date. Act states to give minimum 10 days of Holiday in a calendar year which includes 4 national holidays, but nowhere it states to get it registered.

Dear loginmiraclelogistics, If we apply for exemption, then do we still have to register holidays for the next year?
From India, Mumbai
Dear friend, If you have the registration you also do have the list filed. If you are granted exemption the need doesn’t arise.
