Jose arrives at the Mexican border on his bike with 2 huge bags over his shoulders. The guard stops him and asks: "What's in the bags?"
"Senior, It's only sand." replies Jose.
"Sand??? Well, we'll just see about that - get off the bike!"
The guard takes the bags, rips them open, empties them out and finds nothing in them...except sand. Detaining Jose overnight, the sand is analysed, but only to discover it is in fact simply sand.
Jose is released, the sand is put into new bags and placed on Jose's shoulders, and he is let across the border.
Next day, same thing happens. The guard asks: "What you got there?"
"Sand," says Jose.
A thorough examination of the bags again shows there to be nothing but sand, and subsequently Jose is allowed to ride across the border.
For a whole year this continues until one day Jose doesn't show up, and the guard discovers him in a Cantina in Mexico.
"Hey, Bud," says the guard, "I know you're smuggling something. For a year it's driven me crazy. It's all I can think about... I can't get sleep, the kids are getting neglected...heck, even the dog senses I'm beginning to lose it! Between you and me, just what are you smuggling?"
Jose sips his beer, smiles and replies: "Bicycles..."

How about having a "Joke for the day" corner at citeHR? Forum members could send their entries to CHR and being the administrator for the group, you could post it on the column by putting a tag of "received from____"

Good Idea!! Yeah why dont we have a differeent section, but but it has to be related something to HR, or Jokes takin place at your company!! It can be a stress relief for few of them reading those!! Cite HR Moderator can take a note on these

I second Pramod’s suggestion. Being a HR forum maybe the posts should be HR related.... So how about a "HR Humor" column? CHR - u hearing? Cheers! Lalita

Maybe the column can be called "H-u-m-o-R" (with a capital H and capital R)....that'll signify the HR element involved....

A great idea! Definitely will be a great addition to CiteHR. I love the idea of "HumouR" I like it better than "HumouR in HR" cause somehow it leaves something for the reader to understand. Great idea Lalita. And thanks Pramod for pushing this... I can become a bit lazy at times but CiteHR does have a good HR department to helps things go along smoothly. ;)
Will need a little time to figure out the best approach to implement this. For now I will have to depend on the forum members for the jokes but maybe eventually [once we've grown big enough] I can hire some students to research and add such fun content.
Will definitely implement this and perhaps also the "topic of the day" section but you guys need to give me some time to work on this. I have a day job to take care of too ;)
Great to see CiteHR becoming a fun hangout for all HR professionals.
