HI Flora
Even employee welfare management is also part of HR. I hope it is better to take the option & you should learn more to prove as you are the right person. More over you should learn more of other part of HR too for enhancement of your career

Hello Flora
The career growth and pay is directly proportional to your knowlege, skills and talent in HR. I agree with Mr.Jeevratnam that employee welfare is an important function of HR and you can go for it. However, if you are burning with ambition to climb the career ladder and to have a fat purse, you need to diversify your skills into other areas of HR like manpower planning, talent management, training need analysis, employee engagement, performance evaluation/management, IR, statutory compliances and policy conceptulising etc..You need to seize the opportunities that come by your side or create one (wherever possible) to acquire an all round talent. The market is scarce of talent.

You need to define for yourself the term " Nice job". What, according to you, are the charcteristic features of a "nice job'. Whether it means working hours, nature of work force, place of work, interpersonal relations etc.Once you sit and jot down the features, the image becomes clear to you and this helps you focus on such jobs.
All the best.

Dear Flora May I know the actual reason that you resigned the job. Now a days getting job is not so easy and you missed that opportunity. What exactly you are looking in HR?

Thinking in right direction clears confusion. Thinking should be precise and have a direction to lead to you to understnand what you want. As Jeevaratnam siad, start thinking as to why you resigned and what are the reasons for resigning to set direction.
All the best.
