Dear Seniors,
I am working in a manufacturing company were we have employees as workers, Helpers, Technicians but we don't give any official document to them. I want to know do we face any legal issues if we give them appointment letters, Confirmation letter , Salary Slips etc.

Dear Sonam, It is rather difficult to believe that even now there are manufacturing firms existing without having appointment offers, confirmation slips , wage slip etc. These are gross violations of labour laws. Presuming that you are covered under the relevant Standing orders statute, the provsions regarding appointment/probation/confirmation are provided therein and violating such proviisions have serious adverese consequence. Similarly, salary slip is a statutory necessity under the Payment of Wages Act 1936 and violating it means penal consequences. These are the consequences and it is better to fall in line with the legal requirements. KK

Please give details on the nature of employment. Are these workers contract or casual workers on temporary assignment?
