Dear all experts,
I want to develop the personality of our employees especially regarding Communication.
We have brilliant employees but due to communication they are lacking somewhere so as a HR Person I need to Improve in this..
please can you all guide me in this way that what should I do ? so that can remove their this one weakness. I don't have too much experience of practical field because I am fresher. so I need kind advices from you all.

I compliment you for your initiative to enhance the effectiveness of your employees by focusing on improving their communication skills. My suggestions are as under:

Focus first on identifying the specific weaknesses that you need to address eg. -

- is it their poor use of communication tools like email or

- is it their drafting skills or

- is it their inability to express themselves in English / Gujarati etc.

- is their interpersonal skills / social skills

- does it also have to do with their dressing sense / manners / casualness etc

This is critical for the proper diagnosis will enable you to find the right remedy.

Explore options based on your problem identification. These could include

- getting external trainer intervention or in house training intervention.

- You could also look at standardizing your frequent / regular written communication and creating appropriate templates for the employees to use.

-Find ways and means to utilize the in-house magazine / news letter (if you have one), notice boards, employee engagement activities to promote effective communication.

Get employees motivated to embrace effective communication skills. This would involve

- getting employees to recognize the communication problems that hinders their personal growth and in turn the organizational growth.

- You would also have to get them interested in accepting / volunteering to the various interventions you propose to remedy the malady.

- Find tools like awards / rewards/ recognition to reinforce their commitment to the interventions you propose.

I am sure you can creatively enhance the list of suggestions given above and effectively implement the revolution that you seek to bring about.

Thanks a lot for your great advice sir,
the problem is there which you told me a moment ago,
especially they are lacking in drafting work, email and speaking English..
so I need to call trainer from outside or external ?
can't I do something that can save the cost of company ?

Dear Vipul,
Besides wonderful suggestions by ACT, I would suggest, you can organise Training on Business Communication for them. It does not necessarily be from an external trainer. Any expert in your organisation can take the training. Suggest you prepare modules of training for instance, in first module you may include topics such as nouns, verbs, passive or active voice etc. and likewise further modules.
You can have it twice / thrice a week for one hour each in different batches.
This will have a positive impact on employees. Hope it helps!

Subject - How to Motivate in this matter ?
Hi,
I appreciate you that you have thought to develop the personality and the communication of an employee.
The firm has got a very good HR.
To develop their personality you can arrange for a personality development training, where as it should hurt them in any way.
To develop their communication , they should feel shy to communicate even it is wrong and at any cost you should not give up,you should communicate in whatever language you want your employees to be specialized.
Drafting is very essential where as they learn a lot, with a help of a trainer you can come out successfully

still the thing is that they are shying,
now tell me any other more activity for that,
and more then that next yesterday I have planned an 2 hours of seminar in our organization for personality development.. I am gonna undertake.. can you advise me in that era ? Plzzz..

Fine if somebody do not use english for communication.
Though they migh speak horrible english but you need to tolerate them for few months (may be a year) but slowly thigs will improve.
Necessity is mother of invention.
If you will create the necessity of english people will try to get hold of it.
As long as they will find themselv comfortable with local language at workplace they will never learn good english no matter you organize trainings or do whatever you can. I have been witnessing this in my previous experience employees had undergone many professional english trainings but no improvement.
So create your culture of using english at worklplace forcefully.

Hello,
You may not need the communication training to all of your employees. The persons engaged in manufacturing, for example, do not need this at all. You have to focus on the persons who are to face the customers directly, by one way or another, and in those cases you need proper attention. Mr. Vipul Badhik has rightly pointed out the details of this effort. You need to pin point first what type of training is required to one particular employee and then make the batches of similar requirement persons and arrange external suitable training. The award/reward and recognition of their talents in the form of communication is also to be implemented and encouraged. I feel recognition of talent is more important than the distribution of reward/award. If you don't mind, then I will say that you too need that training.

I never mind.
We are IT Company, so it is must required and most important thing is 95 % of employee is required to talk directly with customer.. so I required t do this dear.. and communication of English is must.. You are right that I need to identify the requirement of each and every employee... thanks..
