Dear All,
Suppose a person was under ESI slab in the previous month, say his salary was 14500 and this moth he got an increment of Rs. 1000 and his salary became R.15500. What about his ESI contribution..? Do we need to deduct contribution from his salary or can we stop deducting the contribution straight away...? San you please tell me a solution for this..
Thanking you in anticipation

Friends, Please...! Can anyone give me a solution for the above said problem...?

At last I myself found the solution....! If the remuneration of a person goes beyond the ceiling of the ESI, corresponding contribution has to be deducted from the salary of the employee for that contributory period. There after it can be stopped.....

Sir, please see proviso to section 2(9) of ESI Act, 1948 which lays down that if the wages of any employee exceeds (excluding amount of overtime) during any month after the beginning of the contribution period, then the said employee "shall continue to be an employee until the end of that period".
