Dear Mukesh, In case of death of an employee : Completion of minimum 5 years continuous service condition is not necessary but minimum 240 days continuous service necessary...
From India, New Delhi
It depends upon the group gratuity policy you have taken from the Insurance institutions.
Generally, there is a separate life cover also...thats apart from the regular gratutity coverage paid at the time of separation from the establishment.

Hi Mukesh,
There is also a concept called future service gratuity that is beneficial to the employees in case of an unfortunate event the nominee of the employee is entitled for the entire amount of gratuity the deceased employee would have received had he worked till retirement in the company.
Hence better than other normal gratuity schemes.

Dear Friend,
If basic is Rs.7000/-, his nominee will get an amount of Rs.16154/- for four years of service. In death cases no minimum service is needed to get gratuity benefit.
