Dear Gurgaon HR,
Many employers check their employees interest in social networking for an insight to grab details from these social sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn etc., Mostly they add their employees as good friends to determine the nature of the comments that you make or take from friends and family on the subject could reveal a lot more There is a loads more of personal information in these sites and is easily accessible, it's ain't not difficult for a company to learn minutiae about an induvidual without having to ask questions.
Giving a facebook id is quite feasible and social gathering over internet (employee should be cautious basically if his colleagues are already in there). Employer asking for any password is erroneous and one should not encourage the same by sharing any kind of password.

Asking for a facebook ID is ok but asking for a password is unacceptable. It is like someone asking for your ATM Pin. I do not think any employer has the right to ask for someone's personal id password and the employee has every right to deny it. If it is a corporate page facebook id / password you have to give it otherwise dont bother.

Hi,
Any one deserves privacy. A pass word/id is exclusively a personal identity which should remain out of bound for one and all be it the employer or any one else, come what may, else you will allow him( the employer) entry in to your personal self how far you may not know initially.

Dear Mr. Skpandeyhr,
Although if its employee rewarding or employee gathering; it always is dicey giving a password to any one.
By the way, why do we call it a password?
It's a security factor driven in the notion by factors involving identity thefting (quite as common). Therefore, one should always say "NO" to anybody insisting on password.
Careful!! might have obstinate effects later.
