Greetings to respected seniors......,
I hope you will kindly let me the information regarding Esic.I am working as hr executive in a service company. i would like to know wheather it is possible to get ESIC benifit from my organisation even paying me more than 10000
I need this facility for my family sake. so kindly let me if i am eligible for this benifit.

I think as per the act, you are not eligible for esic.
I also would like to know if there is a provision for voluntary membership
The reason it is denied is that the person also is eligible for payment of leave salary from esic, which the corporation wishes to cap.
Waiting for expert opinion on this

ESI Act covers an employee drawing wages up to Rs.15000/-p.m. Thus you are eligible, provided your comapny is covered by the ESI Act. B.Saikumar HR & Labour Law advisor Mumbai

Dear
ESI providing is neither company policy nor company wish. it is a mandatory compliance part.
If your gross salary is less then 15000/- then you are eligible for ESI and company have no option but to pay ESI contribution.
Thanks

Dear Sravani
It is compulsory to pay ESI contribution if the Gross Salary is Less than 15000 Pm
Contribution by the Employee is 1.75% on Gross Salary
Contribution by Employer is 4.75 %

Dear Sravani
Please see your salary slips if there is deduction of ESIC from your salary you are already covered and your contribution is being paid. Please ask your company HR to provide you the ESIC temp card and take that to nearby ESIC office alongwith your family members who are covered as per scheme to get a permanent card made. Once that card is made you do not need to get it again even if you leave this company and join elsewhere and the same card will work untill you remain under ESIC eligibility bracket. Which is as rightly said by worth member right now is 15,000 Rs. Proposal is pending with government to stretch it further to 18,000 but till date it is 15,000.
Hope this resolves your query.

Dear Member
As per the Present ESI Law the Gross Salary is 15000 above they are not eligible for ESI Benefits. But the ESI is enhancing the Gross upto 18000. But it will applicable from May 2013
This is for your infirmation
