Walking is called a stress burster.... and of course will follow...
IN this daily busy schedule, I would request you all to help yourselves instead of taking somebody's help..
Like for example,
1. Give print and walk till the printer to collect your paper instead of expecting and telling somebody to hand you over the paper. Donot get stuck into your seats and laziness will take you over..
2. At homes, keep off your remotes of your TV aside.. walk till the TV from your sofa and change the channels manually if possible..instead of sitting on the sofa for a long time...
Get back to your old times.. and keep the current technology aside atleast for sometime to help yourself and to help your health...

I find your presentation a nice one. it made me wake up. Being an ex-sportsman I surely know how much a stint of exercise benefit mind and body. I have seen both sides of life. Now I again start doing my bit of Chale Chalo.

ppt is beautiful, informative and worth sharing.
The time 20 minutes is a bit less to be effectively beneficial.Most of us try justifying our work related walk also as part of excercise. It needs to be understood that the excercise has to be rhythemic and should be gradually built up to a level, where the body starts needing oxygen by way of faster breathing or deeper breathing (warm up phase),sustained at this stage for 20 minutes min. and then a cooling up phase by gradually slowing down. So a recommendation of all inclusive 40 minutes time devoted to this good cause may be essential.

Thanks for the overwhilming response on this thread.
I myself is totally convinced about the exercises in any form.
I have been doing some sort of exercises ever since I was 19 years.
The quality of life depends a lot after age of 40 on the food habits and exercises.
I learned and started swiming at the age of 45. (Later stopped because of eye infection as a resule of chlorination of swiming pool water on Doctors advise)
Healthy and fiberous food would prevent gaining fats, and exercises would consume chalories
Even if one person starts adopting the style in attached presentation, I think I did my job.

Dear Mr.Sudhir,
It is really a appreciable piece of work. Though, I have been in the habit of walking even for getting my own cup of tea of coffee,or removing paper from the printer, I find that a walk with the intention of walking does a lot more good to one's mind and body then the usual walking through out the day. I have already passed on this exceptional piece of work to my colleagues and I am sure that by the end of the week there will be more of friends wanting to know more about the benefits.

Hi Sudhir,
Appreciate your efforts. This is certainly a motivation for all members of Cite HR. And as far as walking goes, it is actually one of the most primitive forms of exercise known to a man.
And as mentioned by you, its a free and the most effortless task one can do to stay healthy. So I try to walk down from my place to the near by station both while going and coming back from office. It only helps me complete 20- 25 mins of walking but also saves 30 bucks of auto fare everyday. :)
Our company has also participated in a corporate health event known as 'Stepathlon'. The event encourages walking and any other physical activity that keeps one active and moving. The motto is walk at least 10,000 steps a day and we are given a pedometer, a step counting device which helps us track our daily step count.
