Hi Folks,
Kindly let me know how can one bifercate Production activities as Core and noncore.
Understand Only Respective governament has to take a call on this as per CLRA. In the absence of specific guidelines i find it really hard to do so and would like to know how this can be done?
Do we have a specific guidelines covering this or key concept to derive what activity amounts to core or non core?
Would highly appreciate your inputs..

If you are referring the differentiation in the perspective of Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, all activities which are directly linked to production or service/ operations of the undertaking are core activities or activities of perennial in nature and those activities which are not directly connected to production or operation are non core or non perennial activities.

When we engage manpower for the upkeep of garden, beautification of lawns or even cleaning and upkeep of the premises, which are not regular in nature, we call them as non perennial or non core activities. House keeping activities, however shall come under core activities also. For example, in a hospitality industry, say in a hotel, people engaged to clean the rooms, restaurants or guest areas are said to be engaged in core activity since in such kind of industry it is something very much required and at the same time, those who are engaged to clean the staff canteen, rest rooms or public area are said to be engaged in a non core area even though both are doing the same work but in a different way. The former is directly liked to customer satisfaction but the latter is not. Similarly, in a hotel employees in the kitchen meant for guests attached to restaurants are doing core activity but at the same time chefs/ cook in the staff canteen are said to be engaged in non core activity even though both are doing the same job.

Similar bifurcation can be done in every industry whether manufacturing or service.
