I am working in the HR dpt. of an international call center.
What can be maximum working hours per day?
I think Factories act is not applicable.
Do we come under shops and Establishment Act? If yes, then please tell me what should be the maximum working hours per day and per week.
We are open 6 days in a week.
Please help me asap.

a call centre is covered under Shops and Establsihment act of the State in which it is located. Normally under the Shosp Act, the maximum working hours per day is 9 hours subject to the maximumof 48 hours per week and with a spread over of 11 hours in a day( in some states it may be more). please verif y teh Shops act of your State since each state has it's own Act.
