Hello All,
As far as South Gujarat is concerned, which professional course should be preferred from MHRD/MLW? (i.e. MHRD = Masters in Human Resource Development & MLW = Masters in Labour Welfare).
What are the opportunities with both the courses?
Thanking you.

HI,
In my opinion you should go for MHRD as MHRD covers both the modern HR practices and Labour Legislations while MLW concentrates on Labour legislations only. As far as opportunities are concerned being an MLW you may get the job in companies having manufacturing units and involving blue- collar employees while as MHRD you may get job in all companies be it IT, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Pharma, Construction. Although there is no hard and fast rule for these assumptions but what I am talking of is the general trend. In MLW you got to study Labour Legislations extensively while in MHRD the exposure to Labour legislation will be there but less than what in MLW. Now you have to decide what exactly you intend to be. Do you have interest Factory HR (controlling and welfare of blue-collars) or in corporate (dealing with white collars).

Dear Amit,
Kindly accept my heartfelt thanks for your guidence. Actually I have 4 years experience in admin, HR and training field in Diamond Industry and as the industry has good hold in South Gujarat, I prefer to go for MLW as it will enhance my competence. What is your view? kindly tell me.
Once again thanks for your advice.

.....then certainly go for MLW as the diamond industry is labour intensive industry where one got to have a very good control over the labour legislations. Even after MLW you may get enough opportunities as the number of people in this area is far less and industry is far wide. Most people today opt for MBA in HR rather than MSW or MLW....................... Good Luck

As a student of Gujarat University and have just finished M.L.W. now I am insisting you that M.L.W. is such a course that definitely benefited in future and in recent scenario. How it benefited ?

Competency of Subject...
In this sense i want to say that M.L.W. include such laws that are not included in M.H.R.D that help you to state yourself ahead in selection within the company

Less Competition in M.L.W. field
In this perspective i want to say that there only 5 or 6 institute of Labour Welfare within Gujarat while talking about M.H.R.D. there competitor are more than Labor Welfare.

Labour Welfare Officer and Industrial Relationist officer
Labour welfare specialy focusing for to become the mention officer but beyond that labour welfare course include thae subject like Economics, Organisation Behaviour, Industrial Relation and especially Social and Industrial Psychology that psychology may not be studied in H.R.M. or in the course.

I hope that You may understand my view..........
