I'm a researcher in Academics. I'm pursuing my PhD in HR. working on the topic of Performance appraisal system used by Software Industry.
I want to know the techniques used by the Software Industries.
Can any one help me in this regard.

Hi Soma, This is not industry specific but company specific. Most of the companies follow a 360 degree appraisal.

There are appraisals methods like MBO ( Measuring performance against results ) , BARS (rating in behavioral terms )self appraisal, Peer group appraisal, upward ( Evaluation by subordinates ) appraisal and also other methods are there.
