Greetings!!
If an employee completes 3months and even the probation period, can employer ask the employee to sign a bond for 1yr with the submission of any of the educational document? without mentioning such clause in the offer letter...
Is it ethical?? And what is the actual policy of signing a bond with the employer??

An employer can ask an employee to sign a bond particularly when he is offering the employee better terms or better opportunities of honing up his skills like sending him to a special expensive training programme and expects the employee to utilise the new skills for his organisation for a certain minimum period. If there is no such qualitative change in the service conditions agrred up on between the parties at the time of joining, it is not reasonable to push an employee to sign a bond, though legally, nothing prevents him from asking his employees to sign a bond at any time. Better follow a policy of persuation and convincing with him to settle the issue.
