Hi Ramesh PT changes between State to State. In Karnataka if total gross is 11000/- then tax is Rs. 150/-. If salary comes to Rs 6500/- then no tax

Dear Ramesh,
PT is calculated on earned gross salary. It is applicable to all employees.
Here is the calculation for Maharashtra State :
Earned Gross :
0 - 5000 then PT is 0 (No PT deducted)
5001 - 10000 then PT would be 175 Rs.
10001 and Above then PT would be 200Rs.
PT is not realted to new or old employee. It is related to his total gross earnings for that month. If the earned gross salary varies then PT would also vary.
Hope this resolves your doubt.
