Dear friends,
Can you please help me with some new ideas on HR initiatives?
To start with, we have initiated a communication system whereby I interact with employees on a regular basis and try to keep them motivated. Also, we have appointed a factory medical officer in the company to enable a regular and free medical check-up for the employees. Can you suggest any more ideas?

Hi Shweta,
You can also go for training seminars. This training can be related to soft skill, communication & team building. You can also approach departmental heads to initiate for functional training.
I am working with food industry wherein we have outlets at many prime locations in mumbai. For advancement & as a training initiative we have stated giving basic computer training to our outlet supervisors. This initiative helped a lot as all these supervisor communicating via emails even for basic requirement to weekly & monthly attendance.
Shweta Iyer - were you working with Think People by any chance?

Dear Shweta ,
If u have labors there , and heavy machinery , u can suggest strict safety policies ...
and make some good safety tips & safety measures posters to stick around the premises .
Its not a big initiative yet a small step towards safety .

Thanks Rashmi,
We have already formed a safety committee and hold meetings in regular intervals.
The minutes of the meeting are further recorded and we take suitable actions for safety of the employees.
Thank you for your valuable input.

Shweta

1. We can also have a suggestion box, where in employees can share ideas of improvement.
2. We can add employee of the month on the notice board along with appreciation letter to keep the staff motivated.
3. Start company blogs on intranet.
4. Celebrate festivals with themes and have dress/ colour codes for all.
