Dear Sai,
The job responsibilities of an HR Manager is same everywhere; whether he works in a corporate field or in an academic field. A Corporate field may have more workers and more work whereas a school may have less number of workers with less work.

As mentioned by Green, the responsibilities will not change. This will only help your career as for now you will have exposure to both corporate and educational sectors. Very few people will have such exposure. Most of the HR manager only know how to hire from Naukri.com or Monster.com, the educational institute might help you recruit through other sources like newspaper adverts, consultancies etc.
The work atmosphere in a school will be much more relaxed compared to hectic corporate companies which are sales and target driven.
Hope you will enjoy the change.

No one can answer that question except yourself.
Re-visit the starting point i.e. what makes you apply for the school job or what makes you want to resign from your current job? And if the answer(s) is compelling enough, you should know what to do next.
