Hi All,
I’m working as a HR in an IT company and I’m given an assignment to find out what are the benefits of clubbing all the leaves types and giving total 32 leaves to all employees.
So I want everyone’s suggestions:
Is it good to club all the leaves?
Is it beneficial for the company ?
How should one carry forward or do encashment if all leaves are clubbed together?
Please revert with your views I'm keenly looking forward to it.
Thanks
Shagun

Dear Shagun
Kindly ensure Pl-12 CL-9 & SL - 12 days in many concern's
1. It is not good for clubbing leaves (if clubbing of leaves is made through you cannot distinguish the EL/PL, CL, SL) in the mean while all the employees in the company may try to come 100% Attendance through out he year and this may cause them stress and ultimately loss to the company
2. It is a loss to the company(If you are paying 32 Days as leave encashment to the employees in that case only 12 can be en cashed)
3. Here comes one more issue for carrying forward or encashment
kindly frame a leave policy of your company briefly to help you out

ALso there are leaves which need not be necessarily encashed. like C.L. It will lapse if not used. If you club all these then you will end up paying more from the organisation.

Hi,
IT and ITES companies have been clubbing their leaves since the past few years. This works well in terms of lesser need to monitor and categorise each type of leave and maintain a record for each.
We provide 25 days p.a. - Jan to Dec of which only 20 can be carried forward. Its works well for us. We do not encash unutilised leave. Exception to this is only at the time of retirement.
U may need to explain the indusrty trends to your management giving examples of companies within few sectors and leave it to the TOP management to decide on what they wish to do.
Also, how tedious is it currently to monitor the different types of leave availed of. use this answer to influence your management if needed.

Dear Richard i have Doubt Regarding En-cashment you have mention at the time of Retirement is it at the time of Retirement only or includes Resigned their leaves will be encashed but what is calculation to be done through is all the Leaves in The closing Balance will be encashed for instance he/she may be having 100 Leaves at the time of Retirement/Resignation so how many leaves will be encashed in F&F??

Hi,
I guess I could have been more clear.
We permit those about to retire to accumulate their leaves over the last 2 - 3 years. Thus at the time of retirement they may have over 60 days.
Others cannot accumulate over 20 days each year. Thus with the new years quota - no one has over 45 days at the begining of the year.
Leave encashment is done on pro rata basis on resignation or any form of separation.
I hope this makes it clearer.

Dear Shagun,
While framing working conditions for employees it is desirable to see the environment and practices pevailing in the particular industry. You should also follow the same and may consider changes which you may find absolutely necessary considering special requirements of your organisation.
This will take your management on your side as well.

Leaves can't be clubbed with one another, they have given to the employees to meet their personal requirements. If you club all the leaves at once, u need to pay alot to the employee and this will cause work disturbance and inconvenience to the subordinates in the organization.

Hi,
I have few queries about clubbing all the leaves:
1. What is the maximum no. of days of leave that an employee can be provided with? How is that calculated?
2. How many days of leave balance could be carried forward to the next year?
Could some one please help.
Thanks.
