Hi
One of my friend who has been working for close to 1.8 years with the company is asked to quit the company.
And for this she was not shown any performance data, clients complaint or not even any Performance improvement Plan. Only verbal discussions happened.
She was told to out down her papers & serve 2 months notice & was asked to find another opportunity.
I would like to know what rights she can possess & ask from the employer in regard to her relieving. Can she ask for extra time till she finds out another job & then put down her papers. Will she have to put down the papers right away as the management asked for. Pl advice.

Dear Bhagyal,
The company has the right to send any employee by giving the proper notice period as per the appointment letter. It doesnt have to give any proof.
Think when an employee give a resignation they dont show any offer letter or any proof, just they resign and serve the notice period and quit the company. here it is vice-versa.
The company doesn't send any employee out only because of performance or complaint.
Due to down sizing, manpower cost or no future project etc., also the company ask the employee to quit.
Better ask her to look for a job soon so that there will not be a break in service which may not create problem in her career perspective.
